Santa Claus

Mrs. Claus's Kitchen

Back to the village

Mmmmmm! Welcome to the kitchen! I sure do love the smells that are always floating in the air in here. Below, you will find some of my favorite recipes. Try them out and be sure to leave a little out for me on Christmas Eve. Remember to always ask your parents for help before you try cooking in your kitchen.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
(Santa's all time favorite)

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream the above together until light and fluffy. Sift together then: 1 c. flour, 3/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. soda. Add 1 6 oz.(1 c.) pkg. real chocolate chips, 1/2 c. walnut pieces. Then mix all ingredients together. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) 10-12 minutes. Remove from sheet, and enjoy!

Coconut Macaroons
(Reminds us of snow!!)

2 egg whites
dash salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
Beat egg whites with dash salt and the vanilla till soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating till stiff. Fold in coconut. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in slow oven (325 degrees) about 20 minutes. Makes about 1 1/2 dozen.. Enjoy!!
